Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities, and Domestic Transport; Information, Communications, Technology and Posts, Hon. Konris Maynard, told the National Assembly on Friday, October 17, 2025, that the final report from the hydrogeological assessment initiated earlier in 2025 identified 17 locations suitable for drilling wells on St. Kitts.
Minister Maynard said:
“The report has identified 17 drill sites. […] We intend to pick the best 10 of those sites, as we go through the report, to identify which ones have the best production capability.”
The sites are located from Challengers heading west toward Cayon.

The news follows previous announcements by Minister Maynard and the Water Manager and Engineer at the St. Kitts Water Services Department, Cromwell Williams, about plans to identify new drill sites for wells to support the WSD’s efforts to tackle the water shortage issue that has adversely affected many individuals across the island.
