Basseterre, St. Kitts (Public Infrastructure News) – On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, Domestic Transport, Information, Communications, Technology and Post, Hon. Konris Maynard, joined staff within the ministries and private-sector entities under his purview at the People’s Evangelistic Centre in Needsmust for the annual inter-ministerial church service, observed under the theme, “A Year of Much More.”

In his remarks, Minister Maynard graciously acknowledged the hard work and dedication of staff in executing the Ministries’ objectives and expressed gratitude to God for the successes realized by each department, from Public Works to the Post Office.

Among the many highlights and achievements of 2025 that Minister Maynard emphasized, were investments in public infrastructure and utilities through “aggressive” roadwork in numerous communities around St. Kitts; the commissioning of the Basseterre Desalination Plant and the identification and drilling of new wells in rural areas; the ongoing digitization of public records dating back to the 19th century; and the implementation of a national addressing system.

Explaining the significance of the theme, Minister Maynard said:
“As we embrace 2026 under the theme, The Year of Much More […] this theme challenges us not to become comfortable with past achievements, but to pursue higher standards, greater efficiency, and stronger outcomes for the people that we serve.”
