Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The Roads and Drains Division of the Public Works Department (PWD) in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy & Utilities, and Domestic Transport will ease the commute of residents and transients near Sugar Factory Road and the George Moody Stuart School in Basseterre.
MoPIEUDT NEWS visited the site on Friday morning (December 12, 2025) and saw the asphalt and concrete crew undertaking the joint effort to give the road and drains a much-needed facelift.

One resident recalled how the potholes added discomfort to her travels and stated how thankful she was that that road was being fixed.
A commuter expressed gratitude that she would no longer have to swerve her car around potholes while commuting through the area.
The activity is part of PWD’s continuous efforts to improve the infrastructure around the island.
