Unplug to Reset – A Midweek Moment for Energy Awareness

Date:

Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – The Energy Unit is appealing to the general public to unplug to reset this November as it officially rolls out its activities for CARICOM Energy Month 2025.

On the first Unplug Me Day (Wednesday, November 5th) the Energy Unit is calling on everyone across St. Kitts and Nevis to reflect on their energy habits by taking a few minutes to walk through homes and offices to identify devices that can be unplugged.

The theme, “Unplug to Reset,” reminds households, students, and businesses that meaningful change begins with small, deliberate actions taken one moment at a time.

“Unplugging goes beyond the simple act of turning off devices. It is about taking time to reset daily routines and reconnect with what truly matters. Each plug pulled and each switch turned off represents a choice to use resources wisely.”

– Denasio Frank, Energy Officer

Frank also stated that turning off unused lights, unplugging idle chargers, and powering down electronics at the end of the day, will not only save electricity but also protect the environment and strengthen our collective energy resilience.

The Energy Unit has been working consistently to drive home the message that energy awareness is a personal commitment that adds up to national impact. This commitment supports national goals to reduce energy demand, lower fuel imports, and transition toward a more sustainable energy future.

“A single reset today can create lasting change tomorrow.”

– Denasio Frank
